Students raise thousands to combat hunger

$10,684.32 donated to Dare to Care Food Bank

The first two weeks of April 2012 Sodexo collected cash, credit and meal plan donations, raising $10,684.32 for local food bank Dare to Care. In the past year, Dare to Care has provided more than 12 million meals to more than 192,000 people in our region.

We thank all UofL students for their generosity and we are especially grateful for the support of Alpha Tau Omega, who first suggested we repeat our annual fall Helping Hands campaign during the spring semester.

Though there are more than a dozen venues on Belknap Campus, nearly half all donations were collected by Terry Beard at her solo-operated Simply to Go store in Davidson Hall.
